Attention Attention!!!! NYX Professional Makeup is coming to Toronto VERY soon-YAY! Have you heard about NYX before?
Maybe you have seen a portion of their cosmetic line at Rexall or maybe in Target (when they were still in Canada-RIP).
Toni Ko is the founder of the multi-million dollar cosmetics brand. In the summer of 2014 Ko sold NYX to Loreal.
The company has done really well because Ko realized there was a gap in the cosmetic markets between prestige brands sold in department stores and mass brands sold in drugstores. She created NYX with the idea of having professional, richly pigmented products at affordable prices and that is exactly how I would describe their makeup!
There has been a lot of buzz about NYX freestanding stores opening in both the U.S. and Canada. To celebrate the launch of NYX in Toronto and to perpetuate this buzz, Lotus Leaf Communications put together a fun interactive launch party. It was held at a cool loft style space in the East End of Toronto. There were yummy treats, signature cocktails and lots of made-up faces! It was a blended crowd of makeup artists, beauty bloggers and Instagram personalities.
The slogan and hashtag were simply NYX in the SIX! Just search the hashtag on your fav social media platform and you will see all the fun photos from the party.

There was a photo booth with large lipstick and gloss cut outs to play with. They would take 3 consecutive photos and turn them into a GIF for you-super cute and totally fun!
Now you can’t attend a makeup launch party and leave empty handed….of course I left with some awesome swag! I got a goody bag filled with a selection of products from NYX.
NYX has over 2000 products that will be in the stores and this selection is a great start to discovering how awesome their makeup line really is.
The first locations to open in Toronto will be at Square One Mall, Fairview Mall, Scarborough Town Centre and Queen Street West. They are all scheduled to open in October 2015. Here are some renderings of the design for the Queen St West Location:
