I am so excited to share the news of my new bridal makeup and hair agency-I Do! Beauty Co. I have had this idea in my head for quite sometime but the timing just never felt right. But with how busy I have become with bridal clients and my personal life becoming more and more demanding I knew 2016 was going to be the year that I took the big plunge. And here we are! I Do! Beauty Co. has been my blood sweat and tears the last few months and I am so proud of this company and I…
Floral crowns aren’t just for flowers girls anymore. I have seen a huge trend with Bridal where the bride and even the bridal party all sport gorgeous headpieces adorned with perfectly bloomed flowers! Jessica Simpson ran with this trend for her little sister’s Ashlee‘s bridal shower. Everyone in attendance made bohemian flower crowns to wear at the festivities. Here is a shot from a Bridal Editorial I worked on which was featured in Weddingstar Magazine. The model wore a bright coloured floral crown with ribbon details. It made a statement without overpowering the whole look. I really liked the deep…
Ian and Becca were celebrating 10 years as a couple and 3 years of marriage. They were looking for a fun and memorable way to commemorate their relationship. We were heading to Vegas so they thought it be great to renew their vows, complete with an Elvis impersonator so that is exactly what they did! The two lovebirds booked a vow-renewal at A Wedding Chapel-A Chapel of Love in the heart of Las Vegas. I had the honor of doing Becca’s hair and makeup for their wedding 3 years prior. For this look I used a wash of plums on…
With all the weddings I have done over my 15+ year career you think I would have done a South Asian Wedding. But for whatever reason it never really happened. I have done makeup for a South Asian Bridal Magazine-Lavish Dulhan but never an actual REAL bride…until this summer! I met my bride Natasha through a referral. She needed hair and makeup services for 3 days over the August long weekend-Friday would be the Hannah, Saturday the ceremony and Sunday the reception. I first did her makeup and hair trial and immediately I appreciated Natatsha’s great sense of humour! I also…
Last year I had the honor of glamming up a bride named Kim who just happened to be marrying former Major League Baseball player Roberto Alomar. Although the wedding was on a Wednesday once you realize the significance of the date it all made sense. They ended up tying the knot on 12-12-12. Any Toronto Blue Jays fans would immediately note that ’12’ was Roberto’s number. And currently the #12 banner proudly hangs in the Rogers Centre because the Blue Jays retired that number after Roberto was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. I met with Kim about a month before…
Wow what a week! I just had 20 gigs in 1 week that included lots of makeup and hair for the Toronto Film Festival, a bridal editorial, glamming up a soap opera actress for various television appearances, a corporate video shoot for RBC, a wedding, an engagement shoot and a fitness photo session! INSANE but I survived and loved every minute of it 🙂 The icing on top of this super busy/exciting week-it was my first wedding anniversary! Yup on September 15th 2012 I married the love of my life. I have done hair and makeup for so many weddings…
